Jet Black; For Life

James Harris started on a harsh path. Growing up as an oldest child of six with a single mother, substance abuse starting at the age of seven. He explained that with no present father, he was a follower looking for guidance and acceptance in the streets. After a robbery, where he was tasked with the position of ‘lookout,’ went south, he pleaded guilty to first degree burglary and was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Now, James works out of his garage to create and produce music, with the help of a sound engineer. He is taking classes through Moberly Area Community College with plans of earning a degree in business to help him further his career. Harris is now off of probation, as well as working with his partner to create a fulfilling and joyful life for their two sons, Dynasty and Reign.
